Mechanical Engineering department was established in1999, and grown as one of the best department and developing steadily as per norms of A.I.C.T.E. fulfilling the requirements of the curriculum of Diploma course.The department has an able & well qualified, experienced technical staff. Some of them are postgraduates in different fields of specialization.The department is having very good education facility supported by well equipped laboratories such as, Material Testing , Hydraulics & Pneumatics. Thermal Engg. Lab, etc. & is having well qualified technical staff to manage the workshop practice. Mechanical Engineering is one of the oldest branches of Engineering. It is one of the core branches. Though this discipline has existed for a very long time, Mechanical Engineering developed into a separate branch of Engineering during the early 19th century. Industrial revolution that took place in Europe played a key role in the emergence of this branch as an independent discipline. Some of the important topics covered in this branch of engineering include- material science, engineering physics, theory of machines, kinematics of machines, thermodynamics, manufacturing etc. With development in technology, new topics have also been introduced, like- CADD (Computer Aided Design and Drawing), nanotechnology, mechatronics etc.Concepts of mechanical engineering extend along to other engineering branches also. Some such branches are- industrial engineering, automobile engineering, power engineering, production engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering, metallurgical engineering and aeronautical engineering.
